Hi! My name is Rose-Marie Vieira and I am your local friendly photographer!
People who know me will tell you that they believe I was BORN with a camera in my hand! From my very first camera – a Brownie! – received as a Christmas gift from my loving foster parents – I was ENTHRALLED with photography! I can remember how cool I thought I was whenever I changed the bulbs after each shot and my dream of becoming a photo-journalist was born. I remember watching old black and white movies that showed journalists taking photos with cameras similar to my own (at least they were in MY eye!).
As time went on, I went through a variety of cameras that were all cool for their time period. I bought my first 35 MM when I was in college – a Minolta. I moved on to an Olympus after that, and it was my “go to” camera for EVERYTHING until the hand grip broke in 2001. That year, I had to decide to move on from “old school” to the modern world of digital. I really didn’t believe I would have the same creative freedom with digital that I had with 35 MM. I still had my original Minolta 35MM as my backup, so with breath held, I plunged into digital photography. Although I still have that old 35mm, I have LOVED my digital Kodak for many years. Recently, through a videographer friend, I got to borrow his Canon 1D Mark III and fell in love all over again with the feel and quality of a GREAT camera! I cashed in my last (“emergency”) savings bond and bought my own!
My photographic eye tends to wander most towards landscape and nature shots, and architecture falling in right behind – focusing mostly on old houses. This has led me to working with real estate listing photography – helping owners and realtors showing the best possible visual of the homes.
But my love of people keeps me shooting weddings and events. It makes my heart happy to know that I am capturing the most important moments in people’s lives. Whether it is their wedding day or the first photographs of their newborns – all the way to birthdays and other special events in people lives – I LOVE BEING THERE!
I also create marketing pieces like brochures and newsletters and do all the photography for them.
